It has taken months after the initial announcement of the latest BlackBerry models, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9860 and Curve 9360,  until AT&T finished testing and made them available to their customers. It has been especially late considering that Research in Motion is currently experiencing drastic drop in sales of their BlackBerry models in the United States.

I don’t want to write this post but it has happened once again: From my own experience today, the reports on CrackBerry them and the official Twitter account RIM has once again  problems with their Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) servers  in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The problem already persists for more than eight hours and the information from RIM it is very limited.

We don’t need another carrier-branded appstore for the BlackBerry platform!

The market for mobile applications has been exploding in the last years and what has been started by Apple and triggered a revolution in the mobile industry. While there have been several application stores already in existence before Apple Appstore came around, Research in Motion (RIM) , the company that developed and markets the BlackBerry smartphone was fast in developing its own application store despite the existence of several other stores that allowed the installation of 3rd party apps on BlackBerry smartphones.
