No, not just by using the display – you can use the internal flash which is much better (and you don’t need to buy any of the Flashlight Applications.

All you need to do is:

1. Open the Video Camera application (not the normal camera)
2. Press "space" to toggle it on and off.

Pretty easy and a really nice trick to do more with your BlackBerry than just make phone calls.
