View and Delete your BlackBerry Event Log to free up Memory

Every BlackBerry’s also includes an Event Log which displays your system’s recently run events and processes. Whenever you are experiencing a problem with your BlackBerry the information that is stored in the Event Log can be quite helpful for troubleshooting.

Check out this link for employee goal setting software.

Viewing the Event Log

The Event Log can be accessed by holding down the ALT key and then typing “LGLG.” The Event Log will then appear, and you can click a specific event for more information or hit your BlackBerry MENU key more options.  Additionally you can copy event information using the MENU key and define specific logging settings.

Clearing the Event Log

The Event Log records all events on your BlackBerry and your available memory can therefore quickly become clogged. To free up some valuable device memory to keep your device running smooth it is recommended that you occasionally delete the Event Log.

If you want to delete the Event Log, hit the BlackBerry MENU key while any event is highlighted and then click “Clear Log.” If you confirm this your Event Log will be deleted and your BlackBerry should be running faster again.

This is a handy tip. It’s amazing how many entries the log contained. My BB is running far more smoothly.

I’m having trouble getting to the event log screen. After holding the ALT button down, it locks, correct? I have tried the trick and it won’t take me to that screen. Do you think you can assist me? Thanks, I appreciate the help. Take care.

    CLEAR EVENT LOG=
Click Menu -> Show Keyboard -> Type /”/”/ -> (BEST TO DO THIS IN LANDSCAPE MODE) If you type it correctly, the Event Log (Information) will popup.

THEN-> Click Menu -> Clear Log -> Delete -> Then Click Menu -> Options -> Highlight first item, then Click Menu -> Hide all types

Hey people I had the same prob but I then discovered that bbs with OS6, as soon as u try the alt+LGLG it shows up a type of search engine function which does not allow u to access the event log. But I now discovered how to deactivate that “search engine” function… 1.Go to your home screen. 2. Press the menu button twice. 3. Go to 'Options'. 4. If you read at the top it will say: 'launch by typing' and under that option it will say: 'universal search'. 5. Change that to: 'application shortcuts'. 6. Save it and go to your home screen. 7. Retype the alt+LGLG and it should show you the event log… I hope this helped
