It was just a matter of time until Amazon launches mobile applications to shop online at Amazon while on the go. Today Amazon announced the Amazon App for BlackBerry that you can download to order millions of products whereever you go.

Now you might think that you don’t want to shop while you are on the go but I am sure that the next time when you are at your local electronics store with your BlackBerry you might just end up doing a search on Amazon for a better price and order with Amazon Prime delivery.

Here is what Amazon says about the App:

 

• Fast: Shop over 40 product available from Amazon.com and thousand of other merchants.
• Convenient: Access your existing Amazon account, cart, wish lists, payments, and shipping settings, order history, 1-Click, and Prime membership benefits.
• Secure: All orders placed on Amazon are processed at Amazon’s secure servers.

What seems to me to be a killer application is the feature to take a picture with your BlackBerry, upload it and Amazon will come up with similar products.

 

 

The application is currently only available for BlackBerry smartphones with a trackball, if you own such a BlackBerry you can download it the application at Amazon.com.
