Tell us about yourself, where do you work?
I am co-founder of NutshellMail. NutshellMail is designed to help you passively manage all your other email and social networking accounts through the inbox you use the most.
How long are you using BlackBerrys? What is your current model?
I am using BlackBerrys for 5 years already and I currently use a BlackBerry 8830 World Edition.
Do you use your BlackBerry for work or personal use?
Both; however, I have only added my work and personal email account. I have 4 other email accounts that I use for lower priority emails and newsletters so I choose not to integrate them with my BlackBerry or even my Outlook. Adding too many email accounts creates clutter, distractions from new message notifications, and I really don’t need to read my emails from those accounts except for once or twice a day.
For my lower priority email accounts as well as all my social networks, I use NutshellMail to keep track of new messages and activity.NutshellMail works by sending recurring email Updates to any designated inbox (I send mine to my work email). I have set my updates to arrive every three hours. Each Update provides a snapshot of new messages that have arrived across my various accounts. I typically access my Updates through Outlook, but the Update resolves into a text format for Blackberry users and you can always check all your accounts through a single web-based interface on NutshellMail.com.
What do you like most about your BlackBerry?
The QWERTY key board and ability to view email messages.
Why don’t you have an iPhone? Would you like to buy one? If you own one, why?
I am hesitant to switch to the iPhone because I use my smartphone for texting, emailing and phone calls. Having a rich internet and media experience is secondary for me. I will stick with the Blackberry because it is so easy to type on. The iPhone touch screen is too clunky for me and the battery life is very poor.
What software did you install on your BlackBerry?
I have installed GoogleMaps, Twitterberry. Soon we will also offer a BlackBerry client for NutshellMail which will provide for a richer email experience for all other email accounts. I am currently testing it on my BlackBerry.
What is the best application you have on your BlackBerry?
GoogleMaps
How does the BlackBerry make you more productive?
It enables me to leave the office without having to worry about missing an important message. I feel disconnected and vulnerable without it.
What is the favourite thing you do with your BlackBerry?
Check and respond to emails. I get over 400 emails a day; I need to respond to at least 50 of them.
