Tell us a little bit about yourself, where do you work?
I am Market General Manager with a large industrial supplier in the US. I have a team of 4 managers and 50 sales professionals.
Do you write a blog or publish articles?
I contribute periodically at SalesTeamTools.com. I write mostly about tools I’ve found and others have contributed that make the life of sales professionals more efficient and effective.
And you also own a BlackBerry?
Yes, currently I use a BlackBerry 8820, mostly for work, some personal use as well. I have used BlackBerry smartphones since 2001.
What do you like most about your BlackBerry?
It can do anything I really need it to do, quickly, effectively and in one device. It’s the most important productivity tool I have.
Why don’t you have an iPhone? Would you like to buy one? If you own one, why?
I’ve got the newest iPod Touch, but I wouldn’t want one device to be my “everything” — I see my phone as my doing tool, not my entertainment tool.
What additional software did you install on your BlackBerry:
Google Apps – Gmail, Maps, and Calendar Sync, along with SimulsSays by the PhoneTag folks.
What is the best application you have on your BlackBerry?
Google Calendar Sync. I can’t stand Lotus Notes’ calendaring system, while I love Google’s Calendar. This bridges the two, since my Blackberry automatically syncs with my Lotus Notes calendar.
How does the BlackBerry make you more productive?
I have pretty good access to almost everything I need to make decisions in my position without opening my laptop.
What is the favorite thing you do with your BlackBerry?
Well, despite all my previous answers, my favorite thing to do each day with my Blackberry is to let it turn off automatically, at 11pm.
