Success in 2009: Tip #3 – Write your personal Not-To-Do List

image Defining goals for the things we want to do and transforming them into a list of To-Do items is very important. Just as important as defining the things you want to do is the definition of things you don’t want to as well as the things you want to stop doing.

Therefore you should also define goals for things and habits you don’t want to do and collect them in a Not-To-Do List.

If you initially don’t have any items to put on this list just start with the things you always wanted to stop. Maybe it is surfing the internet for hours, maybe it is being unfriendly to other people or simply a bad habit such as smoking and drinking that you always wanted to stop. By writing down these items you put your intentions on paper and form the basis to really give up on these things.

Additionally you should put things on your list that will not bring you closer to your goals and only distract you from doing the things that are really important in your life.

I have personally written down these items on a high level and have summarized them as risk factors to achieving my goals as well as on a lower level such spending time on different social networks.
