How To Remove Dust from your BlackBerry Curve Screen

If you own a BlackBerry Curve you might have the same problem that I and quite a few other Curve owner have – dust under the screen of the BlackBerry. While you might try to get a new BlackBerry from your carrier, chances are probably not that high. But don’t worry, you can remove the dust from your screen by yourself!

There are two options, one is through the front, the other is from the back. Let’s have a look at them, I will let you know which one I prefer below.

Here is a video of the first one, which work by removing the plastic in front of the display.

The second option is to open the BlackBerry from behind, by removing a few of the screws, here is what it looks like:

I was skeptical about the first option, especially when considering that the cover needs to stick on the BlackBerry afterwards again. But actually I was easy to remove it (even though you have to be patient, it took me 30 seconds or more to remove the cover) and after cleaning and putting it back on it remains there without a problem.

My problems with dust inside my BlackBerry Curve have been solved. If you have the same problem, maybe you can solve it with this trick.

First method works great and it is EASY.

The screen is held in place with very thin double sided tape. You can avoid tearing the tape by just BARELY sticking the fingernail under the screen and prying (wiggle as you pry) the screen off SLOWLY. Also, helps to move fingernail around the screen to pry from different spots.

Do not wipe the tape when wiping the screen since you have to reuse it.
