How to get a better browser (Opera Mini) on your Blackberry
The Blackberry is a great device and most of the software that comes with it is just as good as the phone itself – with one exception: The BlackBerry Browser. The BlackBerry Browser makes you feel like you are using the most outdated software and users wonder why it is not possible to have the same web browsing experience on your BlackBerry as on your desktop computer.
Most people use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox on their desktop computer and are unaware of another small company that offers a browser as well: Opera. The best thing is that not only they develop this software for desktop computers but also for the BlackBerry. Here are a few screenshots of the latest version of the Opera Mini on the BlackBerry.
This is what the Start Page looks like:

If you open a website, you can see it just like in your normal browser.

A small frame indicated the size of the window if you zoom in, by clicking on the browser will zoom in an one can actually read the text.

If you want to have a better mobile browsing experience as well, follow the instructions below to install the Opera Mini Browser on your BlackBerry.
1. Open the your BlackBerry browser and go to http://www.operamini.com/
2. Download the application and install it. You will notice that you have a new icon on your menu and you can try to open it. You willhave to accept the end-user agreement by opening the BlackBerry menu with the BlackBerry button on your mobile phone. There is no”Accept button” at the end of the page, so don’t look for it
If you are having problems to start Opera Mini you have to change your connection settings.
3. In order to get Opera Mini to work you have set the Access Point Name (APN) of your mobile phone operator. You can simply call your mobile phone operator or visit this site http://www.operamini.com/help/connect/. There you can find APN adress, username and password for the APN server.
4. You have to enter the APN information on your BlackBerry. To do this go to “Settings > Advanced Options > TCP” and you can enter the APN data.
5. Now that you have set these settings, your browser should be working and you should have a much better mobile browsing experience than with the existing BlackBerry browser.
Important Note:
If you have to the APN information, you have to check with your mobile phone provider to find out how you will be charged for the traffic you use while using Opera Mini.
